Sustainability
HOUSE OF LUNGO.
Good design deserves good materials. Good materials deserve transparency.
LUNGO exists to connect and showcase products that dare to turn waste into a valuable resource.
Not every product is perfect. Not every material solves every problem. But every brand we feature shares one thing in common: a genuine commitment to designing with existing resources, rather than continuing to extract new ones.
Our principles
Five principles that shape everything we curate, and everything we believe circular design should be.
Coffee is a material
For House of LUNGO™, coffee is not a marketing story, it's a material. We work with brands where coffee-derived materials play a real, verifiable role in the product.
Explore Planet →Circularity matters more than percentage
We don't just measure how much coffee a product contains. We look at how that material creates value, through circular design, virgin material substitution, and resource recovery.
Design is part of the solution
Sustainability alone isn't enough. We choose products that people genuinely want to use, keep and value, ones that stand out for their design, function and usability.
Transparency over perfection
We're not looking for perfect brands, we're looking for honest ones. Sharing information, acknowledging challenges, and showing real progress is what builds trust.
Continuous improvement
Brands are at different stages. We encourage progress over perfection, tracked through the LUNGO Progress Profile™.
Upcycling
Every brand admitted to LUNGO contributes differently. Some innovate in materials. Others redesign manufacturing. Others extend product life. Together, they show that circular design isn't a single solution, it's many working together.
Limiting Our Impact
Across the LUNGO ecosystem, our brand partners are generating measurable, audited impact.
100%
Dead-stock first policy

Eliminated across all fulfillment operations as of January 2024.
7M+ kg
Coffee grounds diverted annually
Across our coffee-derived material partners, spent grounds are collected before they reach landfill and transformed into S.Café® fiber — used in performance wear, socks, and base layers.
